Grants

For many years, I attended AHIHA as a sibling of a player (Matt Holmes) and then became a player myself, playing as the first female on the Varsity team. As the only deaf student in my school other than my older brother, I savored the one week where I was a part of a majority, rather than a minority. The communication barriers I endured the other 358 days of the year were stripped away and conversation became effortless, friendships abounded. Hockey was just the icing on the cake.

With that being said, I made the decision to give something back to AHIHA.

Do you want to help? Feel free to forward me grant applications that seem to fit our organization’s mission particularly if you work for a corporation that has a foundation arm. As a reminder, just like all staff positions at AHIHA, I am volunteering my time so I absolutely require several weeks of upfront notice about an impending grant deadline in order to allow enough time to compile the required documents and language for the application.
