Girls’/ Women’s Team

AHIHA has been nurturing girls and women’s hockey since 1983 when Cindy Cisluycis played goalie for our Freshmen all boy’s hockey team. We proudly continued to foster the growth of girls and women’s hockey in our program and in 2010 we had enough girls to form our inaugural AHIHA Women’s team. 2017 marked another landmark event for the team when our first USA National Deaf Women’s Hockey Team played in International competition against Canada in Buffalo, New York. In 2019 we held the first National Women’s Deaf Hockey Showcase in West St. Paul, Minnesota. Future international events are presently in the planning stages.

During the week of hockey school, the girls have the opportunity to play against other local girl’s teams. The friendships and support amongst these girls and women are one of the many reasons the AHIHA family is so special.
